Scripture teaches us that God knows us by name.
But I don’t.
Thank you for wearing name tags these first two weeks of July. It is incredibly helpful to me. I’ve also heard from several other people that it is helpful to them as well. I read some time ago that one in three employees are not called by their preferred name in the workplace. You know how important it is to hear your name and how easy it is to lose track of somebody else’s name in the moment or to call someone a certain name out of habit. So for my sake, for our visitors who we need to know by name, and for all of us who sometimes lose track of names, I’d like to invite you to continue wearing name tags on Sunday morning. Thank you for doing this. Oh – if you’re one of those who sometimes forgets to take off a name tag that’s OK too. If I bump into you at a restaurant or grocery store I can still use the help!
I also want to say some thank yous.
- To the 13 people who came last Saturday morning to do work on and around the church building. No resource is more limited than our time. You have opportunities the next two Saturdays from 8-noon to help out as well. There are a variety of projects for different abilities.
- To the hosts of the first two home gatherings, which have been great successes. Several more are scheduled through the middle of August for your convenience
- To all of you for your continued welcome and hospitality for my family and me. You are already a blessing! Thank you!
