“BEYOND BLESSED (…from whom much is given…)” Series begins October 21.

What do you do with life’s blessings?  Is there life after struggling to live paycheck to paycheck?  Is it possible that with God’s blessings come responsibility?  How can we manage what God has entrusted to us that we use our blessings to use for His purposes and for His Kingdom? Dr. Gardner says, “I hope you find these messages enlightening and thought-provoking and that they will bless you and your family for years to come.”  This series is based in part on Jay Link’s book, To Whom Much is Given, which he recommends for personal reading.”

“INDESTRUCTIBLE JOY” Advent Series starts December 2.
Christmas is not new to us.  Once a year, we try to grasp as much joy as we can in the rush of the season.  But what if the gift of real joy has already been given and all we need to do is receive it?  The angel said, “Behold, I bring you good news of great joy.” (Luke 2:10)  Not a little joy, but “great joy.”  John Piper’s Advent book is called The Dawning of Indestructible Joy, because when you open your life to God’s joy, the Bible promises us this: “No one can take your joy from you.” (John 16:22).

pm. Rev. Dr. Tex Sample will be giving a seminar on his new book, Working Class Rage:  A Field Guide to White Anger and Pain. Tex Sample is a lecturer, storyteller, workshop leader and consultant. He is currently serving as the pastor of Trinity UMC in Kansas City. He is also the Robert B. And Kathleen Rogers Professor Emeritus of Church and Society at The Saint Paul School of Theology.

Come hear his expertise and insights as we learn more about this demographic group of individuals.  Copies of his book will be available for purchase.

The topic of how the Church deals with human sexuality and LGBTQ persons has been a part of conversation and at times, heated argument for decades.

Below are Dr. Gardner's outline and summary regarding the plans proposed to the 2019 called General Conference and how those will and will not impact the future of our local churches and the denomination. He also is recommending the book Unafraid and Unashamed: Facing the Future of United Methodism, by Wil Cantrell. Books can be purchased in the church office or online.
