Construction Updates

Sept 24, 2008- The construction continues!! This Thursday and Friday (Sept 25,26) they will be pouring the concrete deck for the new Mission Road bridge. This will entail aprox. 50-60 concrete trucks stacked up while they are pouring. We are expecting a great deal of traffic congestion. In addition to all that, they are also looking to start putting the concrete arches in place for the Windsor Box project on Thursday. This portion of the project will continue for several  days. We thank you again for your continued patience with these projects. More updates to follow!

Aug 4, 2008: Traffic on Shawnee Mission Parkway will be down to one lane in each direction starting Monday, Aug 11th. The traffic signal on Shawnee Mission Parkway at Mission Road will be set to a flashing yellow for Shawnee Mission Parkway to help move traffic. Mission Road north of Shawnee Mission Parkway will remain open; however, if you are on Mission Road approaching Shawnee Mission Parkway, you will only be allowed to make a right hand turn. Left turns will be prohibited. All of the construction projects mentioned on this page are scheduled for a fall completion.

Aug 2, 2008: The entrance to State Park Rd from Shawnee Mission Parkway has been closed. Please bear with us as this project may take a while. Rest assured WE ARE STILL OPEN!!! Please pay attention to any signage directing the flow of traffic. As stated above, you can still enter the church grounds from Shawnee Mission Parkway. However, you must enter from the east end of the north parking lot. You can then drive through the alley (one way) behind the church to access the west parking lot. When exiting, don't forget that the alley is one way. So you will need to take State Park Rd. south and either go through Mission Hills, or turn left on one of the residential streets leading back to Shawnee Mission Parkway.

July 21, 2008: The Windsor Box Construction Project has finally begun! They began removing the trees that surround the creek this morning. This portion of the project will not affect traffic flow in or out of the church.
However, they are scheduled to shut down State Park Rd on Monday, July 28th. So be sure to pay attention to any signage that directs traffic. Once this happens, you will be able to enter the east end of the north parking lot directly off of Shawnee Mission Parkway. You can also access the west parking lot by driving through the alley behind the church. This will be an ENTRANCE ONLY. To exit the parking lot you will need to take State Park Rd south and either go through Mission Hills, or turn left on one of the neighborhood streets just south of the church grounds to return to Shawnee Mission Parkway.
